Daphne Lee & Sam Perduta | Saturday at Green Well!

There’s a fantastic new coffeeshop in New Haven called Green Well on Crown Street, right around the corner from Cafe Nine, one of our favorite neighborhoods to play! They have organic and fairly traded loose leaf tea, coffee, trail mixes and a variety of other healthy food options as well as being a venue for art openings and musical performances. It’s a BYOB room, if you’re so inclined, and this Saturday’s music will be hosted by yours truly, with my special guest Sam Perduta of “stoner-soul” (whoever wrote that should get a medal!) band Elison Jackson. We’ve been singing and recording together, and this should be a lively living room style fun happy hour before you cut loose on the streets of New Haven! Starts at 6pm and there’s no cover! See you there.

Rockabilly Riot! Saturday 4/28!

Rockabilly Hall of Famer Art Adams bring his brand of Honky Tonk to Hartford’s hip new Roots Music Hall! Check out the FB Event Page Here!

ART ADAMS: www.artadamsband.com/
Rockabilly legend Art Adams is well known for his two 45s Indian Joe/Rock Crazy Baby (Cherry #1004) released 1959 and Dancing Doll/She Don’t Live Here No More (Cherry #1018/1019) released 1960.

Despite the success of these two singles, Adams quit the music business in 1968. Little did he know that during the next 30 years, copies of Rock Crazy Baby would circulate around the world, making him an underground legend.

Since his return to live music in 2003, Adams has been going strong. He has released four CDs: Rock Crazy Baby (2003-Collector Records), Rocking My Way Around (2005-Collector Records), Dancing Doll (2006-Flying Saucer Records), The Truth (2009-Smoking Ace Records) as well as a recent 50 year anniversary 45 (2009-Norton Records.) His original recordings have been re-released on numerous compilation records including the 2006 Rhino records box set “Rockin’ Bones: 1950s Punk and Rockabilly.”

As one of the few original rockabilly artists still playing today, Adams has become an in-demand performer in today’s new rockabilly scene. He has played at clubs and rockabilly festivals around the world including: Las Vegas, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Sweden, Spain, France, England, Green Bay, Chicago, Pittsburgh…etc.

The Art Adams Band has a reputation for being a must see live act featuring: drum wizard Greg Cole, upright spin bass master Mike Strauss, guitar guru Tim Gibson along with the original wild man Art Adams.

FOUR BARREL BILLY: http://www.fourbarrelbilly.com/
Mark “Ton-up” Hoag, Guitar/Vocals: Originally out of Boston, Mark’s “Americana” style of playing lends itself perfectly to the rockabilly, ’50s rock ‘n’ roll and ’60s pop styles that Four Barrel Billy delivers. Mark is co-founder of the Connecticut shoreline rock/R&B group The Mo’ Johnson Band. Some of his notable past Boston bands include The Young Moderns, The Underachievers and Crosstown Rivals.

March Madness!

First off, Thanks to everybody who made February so amazing! Everything from the Lizard Lounge to Perks & Corks, Rockin’ out with The Proud Flesh, our fun Radio interview on the Robert J Program,  the beautiful barn at Chamard Vineyard, and the insanely amazing night at The Oasis Pub with our good friends Brown Bird… Well, it was an incredible month! And March holds some greatness in store as well!

The 9th is a big one! First off, we are the featured band at Connecticut Science Center’s Liquid Lounge at 6pm, then we’re hopping across the street to the Arch Street Tavern for the Hartford Advocate’s after party with Little Ugly opening up the show! Here’s the event page, please RSVP!

Then we’re off and running to Burlington, VT for a show at Red Square on the 14th, and stopping through Belchertown at the Black Moon Music Lounge on the 15th.  This is the spot where the lovely Lisa Martin is hosting a new songwriter series as well, so you’ll see more from the Black Moon!

And finally, we’ll round out March with SWAN Day CT, Support Women Artists now! This is an international event, but the CT chapter is rumoured to be the best! And we’ll be joined by our good friend Sue Menhart! Check out more about that event here.

Mad March love to you all!  Daphne Lee & RtR

High Noon Saloon with the Proud Flesh ~ February 17th!

This will be a great show, with a fantastic band from New Haven, The Proud Flesh! If you haven’t heard them, they affectionately refer to themselves at ‘Hipster-cana’, and their live show is bad ass! Super high energy and fun! And we’re having special guests for our set too, including Eric Stevenson  (Pocket Vinyl) on keys & Jaime Duquette on bass.

The beer is cheap, the sound is good, and the bands are all fired up! See you next Friday!
